Module Firewall Fortigate FIM-7920E bao gồm 4 cổng 100GigE QSFP28 (từ C1 đến C4). Các cổng này cung cấp tốc độ 100 gigabit ethernet tới module xử lý FPM. Nếu sử dụng module quang 100GBASE-SR4 QSFP28 hoặc 40GBASE-SR4 QSFP+, mỗi cổng QSFP28 có thể chia nhỏ thành 4 cổng 10GBASE-SR. Module FIM-7920E hỗ trợ giao thức link aggregation groups (LAGs), bao gồm cả các cổng từ 2 module FIM-7920E khác nhau.

Hai cổng 10GigE SFP+ (cổng M1 và M2) được nối trực tiếp tới backplane. Các giao diện này sử dụng để quản lý xung nhịp, đồng bộ hóa phiên làm việc và quản lý việc giao tiếp giữa các module FIM-7920E. Các cổng M1 và M2 phải khác broadcast domains, nếu M1 và M2 cùng kết tới 1 switch thì tính năng Q-in-Q phải được kích hoạt.
